Recall When Your Dog Isn’t Paying Attention
Your dog now understands:
Hear the recall cue → good things happen.
They’ve learned to move towards you when they hear it and have started practising around easy distractions.
For this step, you’re going to make another small change.
You’ll stay in the same room and fairly close to your dog, but this time you’re going to wait until they aren’t paying attention to you before you use the recall cue.
